Error when viewing Scout profile

A brand new Scout application was approved last week. All looks fine in Scoutbook. I tried to view her profile in Scoutbook Plus and received this error.

When I look at my connection to her in Scoutbook, it shows Full Control. When we add new Scouts I often have to check permissions and update for new Scout but it all looks correct. We added a new Scout in June this year and I do not have this issue.

@KimLadzinske

Is this for the B or G troop? Do you have the correct role selected in the upper right? What is the Scout’s Scouting America Member ID (no names)?

I am also having this issue - did you figure out how to get this fixed?

If you provide the scout’s Scouting America Member ID (no names please!), the SUAC volunteers may be able to help identify any issues.

Sure - I’m getting the same error with two Scouts who just joined our Pack even though Scoutbook shows I have Full Control as an Adult Leader.

Member ID’s:

141663457

141659359

I’m also getting the same error, seems to be limited to scouts that have been added to my pack from Augst 8th on. Scouts added prior to that (last one added 08/02), there’s no issue. I’ve also been able to confirm that I have full control in scoutbook.

Member ID’s

While we wait for one of the SUAC to look into this, I was thinking about the symptoms you’ve described.

I wonder if all y’all’s Unit Admin roles may have gotten messed up somehow, but look fine on the front end. A Scoutbook unit admin is automatically connected to new scouts as they’re added to the unit, and has access to the reporting and advancement functions in both classic Scoutbook and SB+.

This has happened to me occasionally, and to remedy it, I typically had to go to:

Scoutbook → My Dashboard → Administration → My Units → Unit Roster → My Name

then select my Unit Admin role, and save it. That would refresh the role, and triggered renewal of the connections. I don’t know if it’s urgent for y’all, or if you’re willing to wait for one of the SUAC to investigate before trying this out. I don’t know the extent to which it would work, not if it might mask something else that’s going on.

Can you provide a screenshot of the error?

Here is the screenshot from my post. Are you looking for something different? Let me know what else you need.

I thought something with the roles was related. The connections manager looked correct - full access. When I looked at all of the permissions for the roles in our unit I got a message. Unfortunately I didn’t save the message. But it said something to the effect that the default permissions needed to be updated. I looked and changed a few things but most things were fine. It took over 20 minutes for the update to complete. It didn’t help my issue but I figured maybe something is new behind the scenes.

Den Leader is reporting the same error on Unit Quick Entry. Connections look good. Following along.

This is a known issue - watch the Change Log for updates

I am having the same issue with two newly added scouts who were added in August.

The only new scout added in august that I dont get this error message for is my own kid. The other two both show the same error message.

The developers are aware of the issue. Watch the change log for a fix.

Any update on when this will get fixed? We have our first meeting tomorrow night and I can’t place the new scouts into a den without knowing their grade located in the profile. Any other suggestions to look this up so I can complete this step?

@JenniferWatson2

We do not know when it will be fixed but we have told the developers they need to increase the priority.

I believe you can get their grade from your my.scouting.org roster.

I ended up using their applications to find their grade. Little back and forth between the application manager and SB+ but it worked :wink:

@StephenSabo If you have the permissions to access the unit Roster at my.Scouting, a faster way would be to:

  1. Go to the unit Roster.
  2. Select the Scout(s).
  3. Click on:
    Export Roster or
    Print → Youth Member Age Report

I checked this today in Scoutbook and I was able to view the profile I reported the issue on.

Yes, the issue seems to be cleared up for me as of today too.
