Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
Merit Badge has been entered as complete and approved by the MB councilor. When I try to approve the MB as a leader, SB sends me to SB+ which gives me “Youth is not eligible to earn this advancement” error. No issues with version or future dates. Youth is less than 2 weeks from 18th birthday. This MB needs to be approved ASAP.

I encountered this error trying to approve this merit badge.
Yes, After I complained to the Scoutmaster, he was able to go into SB+ and approve it. Should I put in a new ticket for my other scout in a different unit that I’m having the same issues with? I can wait awhile on this scout since their bitthday is 6 weeks out.
I’ve tried many, many ways to approve this. It always sends me to SB+ which has been working until today. Even when I get the MB in SB, the leader approval is greyed out which I get since the approval is moved to SB+. But the error is showing in SB+. Even MBs earned and awarded years ago ase showing this Youth is not eligible to earn this advancement ERROR. It’s very strange.
Where do we find the permissions to upgrade in the system? I am advancement chair in Troop B and have handled much of the Advancement upkeep with direction from the SM and CC.
There 2 links have info you want on permissions -
A major focus of the migration to Scoutbook Plus is to have positions mirror the positions shown in My.Scouting to ensure positions were reflected accurately in both platforms. The main purpose it to honor the guidance of our charter organizations and the positions they approve. Therefore, Scoutbook Plus does not use Legacy Scoutbook positions. Registered positions are used to provide base permissions. Some additional permissions can be added by the unit, however, there are restrictions on what can be given. See the updated Scoutbook_Permissions.pdf and the Scoutbook Plus permissions video for more details.
I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green envelope > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)
