So we merged to a family troop and all of our girls were dropped from every calendar event. When I went to clean it up and add them back in, all of us key 3 delegates can not edit any current calendar events.
@BelindaTaft we cannot identify Family Troops great yet - BUT being a Functional Role that ends, I think I would have Key 3 re-establish it as a test
No one in the troop can edit any of the current calendar events. we all have the permissions to do so, but the edit buttons are not there. it’s only been a problem since the merger to the family troop.
yes - that is why I suggest they try re-establishing the K3D in my.scouting - I have turned in your situation for DEVs to look at
ok thank you so much
Personally I think something is wrong with how they are being setup in registration - we will see.
Are the girls registered/paid in the Family Troop or did they renew in the Girl Troop and are a multiple in the Family Troop? Could possibly be an issue because the GT isn’t renewed (assuming 12/31/2025 unit expiration date)
All the girls are registered and renewed. we did that before the merger of the troops. They show up in scoutbook and are available in new events in the calendar, but in all the current events that they were previously invited to, they have been dropped from the events and we have no way to access or edit the events.
Yeah we are having the same issue here. I’m the Scoutmaster of a Family Troop that just converted and can’t edit any event either
. Since I was snowed in I was going to catch up on my administrative tasks, but Scoutbook had other plans.
@PaulJones9 so you cannot Edit an old event - can you make a new event?
@PaulJones9 - for your case (and I bet most) - on editing old events - if they were made for 2 units, and you are a leader in just one of them THAT is the issue (and obvious.) Scouting America Membership did not coordinate with IT on Troop B is now a part of Troop A - they just did it.
It seems councils handled this in a few ways. If there are still leaders from the dissolved Troop, and those positions are still live in SB+ (this depends on how council did things) - I would have them go to Calendar event and delete the dissolved unit from the event, then all should be good.
yes we can make new events, but no one can edit the current events that were already in the calendar.
Is there any way to get help in getting this problem fixed for our unit?
@BelindaTaft either follow my suggestion - or wait for the fix that is planned for the future. Release date of that fix is unknown.
the problem is that no one has access to edit the events at all from either of the old troops so we can not edit the attendance, or camping/service hours, change dates/time or information for events that are already in the calendar or do anything with the events that are already there. If one person had access to be able to get them edited, then that would be fine, we would have that person do the work, but not a single person has access to edit them and we need to be able to edit calendar events.
It sounds like (from various comments posted on the forums) the system is architected such that only a registered scouter in the unit can be assigned the relevant permissions. As a result, it seems like your council would likely need to re-activate (at least temporarily) those units and assign at least one scouter to each unit in order to allow them to modify the events, and even that might be a gamble. You probably need to get help from council, and they might in turn need to ask directly for help from national to get it resolved (assuming it can be). As Donovan mentioned, a lot of this is likely dependent on exactly how they managed the merger, which only council will know.
@BelindaTaft @PaulJones9 I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green envelope > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)
