Hi there! Looking for troubleshooting tips for Functional Roles (tab) in the Position Manager (within Organization Manager) on My.Scouting. The Scoutmaster and I (Committee Chair) would like to update roles but are experiencing the following issues:
- Cannot add our Unit Treasurer as a key 3 delegate (missing “add”), and cannot remove adults because their names are greyed out
- Cannot make changes to several adults whose names are greyed out, and hovering reveals “this membership has expired” despite membership paid through 12/31/26
- An ASM that needs to be designated as Unit College Scouter reserve, but the save button is greyed out, so changes are not saved.
I typically use Chrome, but the issues persist when using Firefox. I also reached out to our person in charge of registration at our local Council, but they were unable to help.

If names are grey it means they are not registered or are in a grace period. Council can help with that.
#3 as Chair not sure you can do that in my.scouting - but you can in Scoutbook+.
@TammyCooke if you think a person is still registered post the BSA # (no name) and we can look - or check the my.scouting roster. If there is a difference between roster the manager that is an issue for council to report with a Membercare ticket.
Thank you for your suggestions! I found the similar area in Scoutbook Plus for adjusting functional roles and assigning a key 3 delegate.
I will try a Membercare ticket to try to resolve the leaders who are greyed out, but listed as active on the roster (both in Scoutbook Plus and My.Scouting). Our Troop paid their memberships back in December and current through the end of 2026, so I don’t think it’s related to a waiting/processing period.
Since there seems to be a lot of overlap in the sites, will everything is getting moved into Scoutbook Plus?
Which sites? Classic Scoutbook is being migrated into SB+, per posts from the SUAC volunteers and various national notifications that have gone out.
No plans have been announced (and I would be surprised if any such plans exist) to migrate my.scouting into SB+, since SB+ is focused on day-to-day unit operations like tracking of advancement, activity logs, attendance, unit finances, etc. my.scouting is (broadly) focused on registration and training (and various other issues more related to unit management from the council side of things).
