Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I was reviewing my son’s Scout book and noticed he has two IDs: one with Troop 111 (Arlington, VA — National Capital Council) and another with Troop 257 (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Transatlantic Council). He holds dual membership in Troop 111 and Troop 257 and he is active in both. Do you know how to merge the two files into a single record?
@JosephineAkiki - you actually would not have a single record as it is two different councils and two different member numbers. The decision must be made for which troop will enter advancement. That unit will enter all advancement. Additionally there should be two scoutbook accounts. The SUAC folks can certainly better explain this.
Thank you for your reply Stephen. My concern is that my son has some awards entered in one book that are not seen on the other book. How can I transfer them?
@JosephineAkiki as far as advancement on accounts we can merge that - would just need to know the surviving accounts as advancement sits on one member #.
@JosephineAkiki OK Advancement can only be on one troop or council (member ID). So the Units need to work together to get everything recorded to the Advancement Primary Member ID. So can make sure both Member IDs have a SB User.
Not as I know. but when we were transferring to Troop 257 riyadh, We discovered that there is another troop 257 in Maryland the US and since then things got confusing to me as well
@JosephineAkiki ok the scout is registered in the NCAC 257 - so I bet that is an issue. You might want to call NCAC and end that registration if it is a mistake
OK that is the main Member ID. You are not a parent on that MID - either the FEC Unit or the Council needs to add you as a parent. Probably under your NCAC Member # ++++7255.
