Been trying for a good 30 minutes here. As I understand from videos I should go to Connections and then add and search for a scout. That doesn’t work, I get no search results. I’ve read maybe that is a known issue or maybe it doesn’t work because they are already connected to me. I’ve read about searching for MBCs, so maybe I need to click on a scout and then search for an MBC (me), but I don’t see where that is possible either.
@PatrickRadoszewski if they are scouts in your unit or scouts you are already connected to - > go to the connection under MY Connections > then add MBC and that Merit Badge
@PatrickRadoszewski- specifically here
Once you check the MBC box the merit badges you are approved for will be listed… then check off the badge(s) you will work on.
Also, once you’re in connected, use the MBC tools in classic Scoutbook on your My Dashboard to Counselor Approve requirements and the overall MB. That hasn’t migrated to SB+ yet.
@Stephen_Hornak @DonovanMcNeil
I am in classic. I go to My Connections. I click on an existing scout connection that it says I have “Full Control” of. Per Donovan’s comment, I don’t see “add MBC”. Per Stephen’s comment, I don’t see a checkbox of how I can change my relationship.
@PatrickRadoszewski then tell a unit Admin - and they can do it
Ok, thank you for your help
You actually need to go to the scout’s connections page, not your own connections.
I tried that, and I do indeed get closer, but then it tells me I already have a connection to the scout and can’t be added as an MBC
It sounds like you are not connected to the Scout with Full Control permissions, so you need another leader in the unit (Troop Admin or Patrol Admin) to add you as an MBC connection to the Scout.
If you could provide a screenshot without showing any of the scout’s personal info, we could confirm you are doing that as intended.
Thanks for the offer but I did go with having a unit admin assign me and now it’s all good
