Scoutmaster here with a problem with the Troop Recognition Report.
When selecting the “Include Not-Awarded Regardless of Date Range” option on the Troop Recognition Report, I keep getting dozens and dozens of random awards under EVERY scout’s name, all with a date of 1/1/1900. Even for scouts that have earned no awards since the last COH and scouts that have not been active for months.
We usually do not need to use this option, as we mark all awards as presented following each COH. But I actually need to pull a few awards for a few scouts who recently transferred into the area and have outstanding awards from their previous unit.
I’ve used this in the past without issue. But not today.
As it’s currently pulling is completely and totally useless.
I think it’s been partly fixed. It’s no longer pulling all awards at random. But it is pulling all open MBs that have been assigned but not completed. See the snapshot of the report I run. Every single one with a 01/01/1900 date is an open merit badge on the scout’s advancement record that has not yet been completed.
So it appears it is pulling advancement assigned to a scout but it’s not pulling only completed awards. It does the exact same thing if I put the same date range in the completed area.
It’s also clearly pulling advancement outside the date range that has already been marked as awarded. See snapshot for J. Callahan and A. Carnley.
But I don’t think this is an isolated issue. The last one wasn’t. Anyone that runs this report is getting the same issue. Pretty sure it’s not council, unit, or leader specific.
@RaymondCarnley - what was Ed was stating is that the ref number will be able to point to why it is pulling data that it need not pull into the report rather than council, unit or leader pointer.
When I see things outside the date range on mine it is because they are marked Unawarded - is that what you see @Stephen_Hornak - if so that makes sense - the training is being dealt with
@DonovanMcNeil - in looking at those items like scout rank and cyber chip the awarded box is checked but on the item itself the sole entry is the leader approved. There are no entries for completed and awarded on the audit on the award/rank visual
@DonovanMcNeil - indeed and in the case of scout it was a gimme, then earned…The Cyber Chip was a transitional from Cubs to Scouts BSA - that grade range
