Inconsistent display of "all day" events in ical feed

I generally use “all day” events as a placeholder on our Troop calendar pending our planning details like location and specific time.

Sometimes, I the all day events show up on my google calendar (where I’ve subscribed via the API) as an event that spans the whole day of my calendar (an event running from 12:00am – 11:45pm); sometimes, it (correctly) displays as an all-day event at the top of my calendar day view.

Often, when I go to a full day-spanning event in IA2, the “all day event” checkbox isn’t checked, so I edit the event, check that box, and save the changes. Sometimes, this fixes the event, but sometimes it does not. The behavior appears to be erratic and unpredictable, but I wish that the events didn’t span my whole day in my google calendar!

Any tips or gotchas that I might be missing for editing an existing event to ensure that it’s “all day” and is only on the top of my daily calendar?

@BenjaminHeavner - i am going to compare this to a POTS line… once you pick up the handset and get dial tone you are on the telco provider side. Same applies to calendar subscriptions. Once you subscribe the end results are on the calendar you are looking at. You have hopefully subscribed via url which at least will reflect changes made in scoutbook plus. Beyond that you are beholden to google to sync and display properly.

In case you aren’t aware, Google calendars only retrieve once a day. So, you’d have to wait 24 hours to be sure. That may or may not be the case for you.
