Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I’m not entirely sure where to put this so I’ll try this forum first. Feel free to move it to where it should be.
When I visit discussions.scouting.org and click the login link I’m taken to the my.scouting login page. I login there, but it never returns me to the discussion forum.
I have to then manually go back to the discussion forum where it thinks I’m still not logged in. However, when I click the login button on the discussion forum this time (after logging into my.scouting), it takes me to the logged in view of the discussion forum.
I saw the expected behavior (i.e. click login → my.scouting → auto-return to discussions.scouting) when I logged in this morning and yesterday. At the risk of asking “did you try rebooting it?”, did you try an incognito window and/or different browser?
ETA: Should have mentioned that I was using Chrome and Firefox on PC, regular browsing (i.e. not Private or Incognito) in both cases.
Visiting the forum via an incognito window behaves as expected (half way). The login part works as expected (returns me to the discussion site in a logged in state).
However, the logout behaves the same as I was seeing before. Just drops me on the my.scouting page in a logged in state. I have to manually logout in my.scouting and that leaves me on the my.scouting login page.
Hunh. That’s weird. I’m seeing the same thing as you are when I logout. I haven’t paid much attention to what happens when I log out of the forums before, but I would like to think I would have noticed that behavior…
ETA:@edavignon, if it helps, I use SA credentials for login, not the third-party credentials.
I see this behavior if my connection is slow from time to time. It will bump me to my.scouting instead of all of the way to the discussions. I’m using my.scouting credentials.
