Lost almost all access permissions as Key3 (Cubmaster)

Since a few days now, when I log in to advancements.scouting.org, I cannot make any changes, such as to our Cub Pack calendar nor to click off any requirements completed for anyone other than the Wolf Den. Today, I can’t even view anyone in my Cub Pack roster at all.

I am Cubmaster and Key3, plus keeper of the calendar, so this is very problematic. This happend to me around this time last year as well.

@PaulettaStiessberger - my first inclination is that you should contact your registrar. This seems like a lapse membership. What does my.scouting.org show for your registered positions?

@PaulettaStiessberger your position registration changed -

@PaulettaStiessberger

If you are still Cubmaster, your Charter Org Rep can update your position on the Positions Manager tab of the Roster page in my.scouting.org. The next day, Scoutbook should be updated and your access restored.

What exactly does the COR need to do? He’s very minimally involved so precise instructions would be helpful. Thanks!

@PaulettaStiessberger - here is what the COR should do:

  1. log into my.scouting.org
  2. select the unit from the menu section dropdown box
  3. click on roster
  4. click on position manager

I’ve also been a Merit Badge counselor for our Troop21, but that also seems to have been removed. I assume the COR could fix this in the same way? Thanks

@PaulettaStiessberger - merit badge counselor is a council position not a unit position

@PaulettaStiessberger

Your Merit Badge Counselor registration ended on August 31, 2024. You will need to contact your Council for assistance. I suspect they will want a new MBC application.

@PaulettaStiessberger Based on the screenshot that Donovan posted, your Cubmaster position expired / lapsed effective 03/31/2025. I suspect that you do not appear on the pack’s Roster in my.Scouting currently.

I would recommend having your Chartered Org. Rep. contact the council Registrar and request that you be added back as Cubmaster.

Unfortunately we changed Chartered Orgs and COR around then, though this has yet to be corrected in scout book. I hope our old COR does this…

It also automatically expired me as a MB counselor for the troop21, very untimely as we’ve just completed a MB and I can’t update troop scout details either.

Shouldn’t these actually default to NOT expire as long as we’re still registered adult volunteers??? Thanks

@PaulettaStiessberger

Each registered position must be renewed annually. It appears you did not renew your MBC position. You will need to work with your Council to be reinstated as a MBC which may require a new application at this time.

We cannot explain why your Cubmaster position ended. You will need to work with your COR and Council for it to be restored.

In one council, All registered position SHOULD have the same expire date

mine clearly do not. How do we fix this? My COR says he has no ability to make changes either! Thanks

@PaulettaStiessberger - you will need to work with your council. What was the COR unable to do ?
