I have spent the past 24 hours going through that document, but it does not list Registration Inquiry.
@EmilyRepperger - perhaps this may help.. at the end is a roles grid
I reviewed the video and the document. Based on my findings in scoutbook plus, the three weird positions do not translate well. Webelos Den Leader, Tiger Den Leader, and Lion Guide are not considered Den Leaders. So they have less permission. When I look under advancement, I see my Webelos Den leader, but I CANNOT give them permission to approve or edit. I added them to Den Support like the video mentioned briefly. After enough time elapsed (around 10 minutes), they now have the appropriate permission for things like Advancement.
Please fix this.
@BryanEuton can you post the Member # (no names) of one registered as a NAMED DL (Tiger/Webelos)
Member Id# 14537849 The Adult is a Webelos Den Leader. The following positions/roles are listed for the member: Webelos Den Leader, Den Admin, Den Support, Webelos Leader. The role āDen Leaderā is not present because in my.scouting.org, the member is list under Webelos Den Leader and not Den Leader.
Bizarre in Test Server he id just a DL
@BryanEuton A data change is coming to change all NAMED (tiger, webelos, AOL) - to Simple DLs.
FOR NOW - I would have KEY3 go to my.scouting.org > permission manager > move the user to Simple DL - give it 24 hours problem solved - when DL in SB+ - make sure still assigned to den and all permissions will be there
For the Functional Role of āSub-Unit Supportā, Iām assuming that the individual will only have those rights for the Dens/Patrols that they are member of? So, in addition to assigning them this Role, they also need to correctly assigned on the Roster?
@JillBarr Yes - BUT it is universal for all sub-units assigned to now.
There are the individual permissions that also can be used which give units much more control under the Position/Roles Permissions Tab at top of Permission Manager
That definitely has a lot more detail. Thanks,
Emily
Question: For a leader who does not have permissions to edit advancment, will they still be able to enter advancement for their own scout? I havenāt seen any mention of how the parent āroleā fits in and I just heard from a parent (who is a leader that does not need edit advancement) that they no longer can enter their childs advancement, it shows ādisabledā to them.
@EmilyRepperger they should be able to - they might have to switch to Parent Profile
@EmilyRepperger Testing I can do it = BUT I have to be under the Parent Role in Dropdown (which SUAC Hates) and then click Youth Profile on Left side.
@DonovanMcNeil will this data apply to Lion Guide as well?
@KennethLaCrosse what we understand yes - it is just Den Leader moving forward
Great! - Thank you!!
Several of our pack leaders lost the ability to update advancements in scoutbook plus. Is anyone else seeing this? What the heck happened with this update, and why is it do darn complicated to give permissions for adding achievements?
Have you looked through the PDF and/or video that Donovan linked to in the original post in this thread (and are shown in the blue banner at the top of the page in these forums)?
The permissions structure was completely changed from what existed in classic SB, as is described in more detail in the post/linked items. As a result, permissions that didnāt already descend from a registered position or functional role in my.scouting appear to have simply disappeared (or at least that appears to have happened in many cases based on posts here). The instructions on how to reassign them are in the linked document/video.
@ChrisMendez most often with den leaders it is either they are registered in Old NAMED Positions - WEBELOS Den Leader (as an example) instead of simple Den Leader - this the unit Key 3 can change in my.scouting.org
Or the Den Leaders are not assigned to a den in Scoutbook + so the system does not know where to give permissions.
Is there any way for me to see what positions/functional roles that I have? I can see in the corner that I am ASM + 3 other roles but canāt actually see what they are. I do 95% of all the things in Scoutbook for our troop and I have lost all of my permissions and need to figure out how to direct people who donāt use scoutbook how to get my access/permissions back.
