I am finding that I have lost all permission to calendars and I think i found a way around adding activities by adding myself as an adult to every patrol.
No - Functional Roles are an after thought - what is important are the individual permissions.
The PDF breaks down what each position/Role get in terms of Permissions - What permissions are automatic, what permissions are recommenced, What permissions can be given, and subunits if it applies.
So as UAC you have Edit Advancement (not approve) and Create Message out of the Box. Then unit can customize how the Unit runs.
I am trying to use the new permissions function in Scoutbook Plus. It is requiring me to assign someone to executive officer but I have tried every registered leader we have and it won’t accept any of them. Who is supposed to be the executive officer because I can’t get permissions back to my den leaders until I can find someone it will accept for this role.
@JanuaryMyers - the Executive Office is the person in charge of the Charter Organization like a club president, church pastor etc. It is not one of the registered leaders.

You need to contact your council. Every unit is supposed to have an XO and the person is on the charter agreement.
How do you add that person since the only option is to select a name from the list? Do you have to have council add them?
@JanuaryMyers - when our XO retired as Pastor of our charter org I had to submit a new unit application to change the XO. Best to talk to your council AND Charter Org Rep. And since you are missing the XO it is most likely they got dropped somehow most likely did not renew.
The role of the Institutional Head (IH) in Scouting America is to lead the chartered organization that sponsors a Scout unit and provide official approval for Scouting to operate within their organization. The IH, such as a pastor, principal, or PTA president, commits the organization to chartering a unit, appoints the Chartered Organization Representative (COR) to act as a liaison, and gives the organization’s support to the Scouting program

I am confused. When I try to add in youth leadership for lower rank signoff and approval it says they are not 21 and are therefore not qualified. Am I doing something wrong here?
No, the error should not be displayed. Just ignore it.
At some point during the last permissions update in scoutbook plus, we had a leader get marked as their role ending. I’ve noticed this in the past with legacy scoutbook. Periodically a sync will make changes and end roles. I don’t know if that happens in scoutbook plus or not, but the leader now shows expired and can not be placed in the den leader role. I don’t see a location to update the leaders position date and it appears that they are no longer associated with our pack. How do I get the permissions updated to get the leader back into the pack, so I can give her permissions as a den leader?
I’m the Scoutbook “expert” in our pack. I think we fixed the errors for the pack after the 10/30 update. (Big thanks to the PDFs/videos.) I didn’t hear about the updates until after the fact. Where should I go to look for info ahead of time? Incidentally, I’m also teaching a Scoutbook class at University of Scouting this upcoming weekend. I’m sure we’ll have many questions on the update there as well. Point me in the directions of resources and key people who hear about these changes ahead of time so I can pass it that info on as well. (Were Councils notified of these changes ahead of time or were they as surprised as us volunteers?)
I’m assuming the scouter still appears as currently registered in the official roster at my.scouting. Please post the Member ID for the missing scouter (no names, please!) and SUAC may be able to trigger a sync from the official roster to SB+.
Scouting America IT doesn’t generally announce the release of changes in advance. If you wish to advocate for a change to this policy, you’ll need to do do via your council professionals. The folks who make the decisions about timing and notification of updates don’t take feedback from the SUAC volunteers here, and might only respond to pushback on that from the council professional staff if enough councils provide that feedback.
I can tell you my council didn’t provide any advanced notice that I’ve heard of, so I assume councils didn’t generally know, either.
@ChrisSmith7 do not post names - you can post isolated member # and that is fine. If guessing the user is registered as one of the Old Tiger, Webelos Den Leader - instead of just Den Leader.
@ChrisSmith7 that user is not registered in the Pack - she is in 3 troops and 2 crews - a Key 3+ can go to my.scouting.org > roster - to see the Pack roster
Since the update I am no longer able to edit calendar events and I am key 3 delegate and troop admin for both our troops. How do I get the permissions back to get editing privileges.
Legacy Scoutbook permissions do not matter. As K3D I would expect you to be able to edit the calendar.
Yeah me to. On Friday I was able to and now this weekend I don’t even have an edit button for any calendar event and I can’t rsvp for other scouts anymore either.
It’s like all the permissions that I normally have are gone.
