With the new update where all are under No Response and they have the option to RSVP with a Yes, No, or Maybe - Is there a way to disable the Maybe option within the unit settings? Maybe is not helpful when finalizing cost, etc. A RSVP deadline date, disabling the ability to RSVP past that date would also be most helpful. Thanks!
RSVP deadline date is on the backlog. We do not know when it will be implemented.
There is no way to disable Maybe.
Maybe means no response as it is the default everyone starts out set to. It may require letting the unit know that with maybe, you will never be counted. Or, in my old unit, we just continued to remind families until they committed.
The intent of Maybe is for the family to alert the unit that it is considering attending but there may be a conflict that must be resolved before committing. In my opinion, anyone who selects Maybe can be changed to No after the RSVP cutoff date.
Note the Scoutbook calendar does not currently have a RSVP cutoff date but we have asked that one be added. I will suggest that after the cutoff date, all Maybe responses (after No Response becomes the defult) be switched to No and the family notified.
I agree right now maybe is pretty worthless. I just created a new thread about this (oops, sorry)- suggesting there be a 4th option- yes, no, maybe, and blank or “hasn’t responded”.
