Merge Parent BSA IDs Please

Please combine these two BSA IDs: 13759986 and 13763228 (13763228 appears to have the most info. attached.)

Thanks!

No one can merge Member IDs - they can only be managed (log into my.scouting.org > click Menu top left > Click Manage Member ID > one of the BSA # will be there marked PRIMARY > then add the other MID (BSA #) - you want to make the one that is your unit registration PRIMARY ) - Scoutbook users can be merged. We will look at these

Will your training show up when you add an additional number to your profile? IE I had an adult with a my.scouting account and she did YPT last year and her den leader training under that number. Once council processed her leader application this week she was given a new membership number.

In principle, managing the two (or more) BSA IDs together in one my.scouting account should merge training. I believe you have to leave each of the BSA IDs with training on it active as primary for at least 24 hours for it to “propagate” to the other IDs, but I could have misunderstood that, as I only have two BSA IDs from different councils.

All training SHOULD Merge to Primary MID - as long as the MIDs are NOT on more than one usernames.

I have a new family that joined our unit with 2 boys. The dad had his name and email on the applications so he appears to be linked to both boys’ profiles, but I created a connection for their mom on one of their profiles, but do not want to create a separate connection for the mom in the other boy’s profile. Can you help me so that the connection create for the mom and the Lion scout, can be used for the Wolf scout? BSA Member ID for the Lion is: 14583247 and the BSA Member ID for the Wolf is: 14583228

@KevinTownshend You will need to go to the Scout’s Connections page in Scoutbook, click on the parent’s name, then update the connection type to “parent / guardian”.

The parent will need to log in with her my.scouting user name and password – not her e-mail address.

That is not the issue I am having. She is connected as a parent just fine to one of her sons (TC), but I did not want to create a completely separate connection for her other son (WC), which would not also be connected to the child she is already connected with (TC). She is not a registered adult, so I cannot search for her by name to attach her to her other son (WC). I went through this same process a couple weeks ago with another family in our unit, except there were already 2 separate parent profiles by the same name, and the Scoutbook User (DonovanMcNeil) took care of it. I just don’t see the point in creating another connection for her just to have to merge them and remove one when I just want to have her name attached to her other son.

@KevinTownshend She is already connected to W., because I connected her to the Scout about 30 minutes ago for you.

Please go to W.'s Connections page in Scoutbook, click on the parent’s name, and update the connection type to “parent/guardian”.

Ok thank you Jennifer, sorry for the confusion. I did find her name in his connections now and changed her connection type to parent. I sent her an email to notify her, thanks.

Hello Jennifer, could you help me do that same exact thing with another pair of scouts in my unit? The scout that has a connection requested to his mom already is BK with BSA Member ID 136547458 and the other sibling I would like to have attached to her is AK with BSA Member ID 137485773. Thanks!

@KevinTownshend This is completed.

Hello, could you help me do that again with another pair of scouts in my unit? The scout that has a connection requested to his mom already is CR with BSA Member ID 14699268 and the other sibling I would like to have attached to her is XR with BSA Member ID 14699275. Thanks!

@KevinTownshend Are you able to use the Connections Manager on the Pack Roster page in Scoutbook to connect the parent?

After you connect them with the Connections Manager, you will need to go to X’s Connections page in Scoutbook and change the parent’s connection type to “parent/guardian”.

Hi @DonovanMcNeil - so, I asked the parent to merge and he said he received the following error:
The provided Member ID does not match the existing user profile.

Apparently, 13759986 is his primary and I have no idea why this other profile is attached in Scoutbook (unless he created a new one when registering another child- he has a total of 4 in the Pack.)

Are you able to tell if he actually has two IDs or do I need to nudge my Council again to help?

@JennyGoguen Manage Member ID does not work when the name or the date of birth (DOB) do not match.

In this case, BSA member number 13763228 has a youth DOB, and that’s why Manage Member ID is not working.

@JennyGoguen You might want to have your council take a look at them. I suspect that both BSA member ID numbers belong to the parent, but parent used child’s DOB on one of them.
