The new registration method is challenging parents. I have a Scout who was do for renewal and parents accidentally created a new profile (SB ID:14038180) because they were unable to find the old (SB ID: 13474195). I am unable to see a way for me to merge or remove the duplicate account - any help would be amazing - Thank you.
@MauriceDenis well on the first account the mother was connected so only she could renew - the second account was made by the father - the 2 accounts have different years for DOB - I suggest talking to Council to see how they want to handle the situation
Hello Donovan,
my scout appears to have two scoutbook log-in with two different numbers. Can these be merged?
When I’m logged in to my scoutbook account and click on his profile his SB user ID is 7495027 BSA 134078362. When he logs in, it doesn’t appear he is connected to his real profile, the BSA # that shows is 141382247. Can this second number be merged with the first one?
Thank you
@kathyglynn ok we can clean it up - but you will need to check DOB as a different one was used on other account - Council can fix if needed
Ok, I will double check the birth year. Thank you very much.
Parent submitted a new registration for her scout rather than a renewal. I contacted the Council registrar’s office and was told that they would have to expire the new registration, request a refund, and then renew the existing registration. However, I see that lots of people on this forum have the same issue and yall are able to merge. Can you do the same for this youth scout even though the parent misspelled the last name on the new registration?
Existing (and correct) ID: 140523798
New (to be merged): 140857963
And will that make the dues current for the existing membership ID?
We can only merge my.scouting.org and scoutbook IDs. BSA Member IDs cannot be merged. Your Council will need to fix the registration.
Can I link my son’s SB ID: 14191288 to my account (14207944)? I need to renew his registration. I just renewed mine.
@DavidTijerina1 The other parent has the parent / child “relationship” that is needed for renewals. She can create an account at my.Scouting. When creating her accout, she should use her full name (not a nickname) and she should try to match with her existing BSA member ID number (ends in -289).
Alternatively, you can contact your local council and ask them to use their Registrar Tools to look up your son. In the “Relationships” tab / section, they can add you as parent, and then you should be able to pay the renewal.
