Merge Duplicate User

Hey there, I have a parent that has ended up with two user accounts that both use the same email address. Need to get them merged.
137545957 << this one the name is misspelled, middle name is wrong, and address is wrong.
141365120 << this has correct name and address

This seems to happen an awful lot. Is there some way to prevent this?

@AlexanderGordon1 I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green envelope > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)

Similar issue:

140844540 good account (misspelled last name, should be Martin)
140919318 duplicate account (has troop position that should be transferred

Thank you for the help.

@ChristopherMarti that is fixed - your email login is retired - use the Username one - I recommend that you contact your local council and ask them to use the Registrar Tools to look up your children. When they look up your children, they want to check your children’s “User Relationship” and make sure that your children are connected to you as parent with Only your correct BSA member ID number 140919318 (this is the good one)

Good afternoon, can you please merge these two accounts? Parent is a den leader with new Pack in new Council. Their attempted transfer did not work and they made a new account before I was aware of the issue.

New Membership ID # 141319161
Old Membership ID # 14909491

Additionally, one of her children cannot be transferred into the new Council for unknown reasons. Can you confirm that their scout is still attached to their account?

Youth Membership ID# 14906505

Thanks for your help!

@SusanDuenas a new Council always means a new BSA #. The Mother is fixed. The Scout has no parent connections for registration - if transfer is wanted old council needs to be called, probably easiest to use paper even in TAC.

Thanks for the Parent Merge and Scout connection update. We’ll circle back to former Council to see if they can assist.

@SusanDuenas old council is not that simple - the parent would need to be instructed how to log into the old account using manage member ID to achieve it

Should the parent set their previous Member ID as primary, via Manage Member ID? Might this reconnect the parent with their scout?
Could parent then log on and try to initiate out-of-council transfer?

@SusanDuenas the Scout had NO parents as Renewal/Membership connections - only the old council could add it (and maybe only with membership is still active) - then Parent would have to set old MID to Primary (YES) to do the transfer - hence why even in TAC Paper might be easier

@SusanDuenas The Scout has 3 BSA member ID numbers, but this is the only one with any registrations:

14345726 - North Florida Council

The Scout’s date of birth is different by one day, so that might be part of the issue. If needed, North Florida Council can correct the Scout’s date of birth.

The father has the parent “Relationship” to this Scout. The father can log in to his my.Scouting account, use Manage Member ID to switch his member ID back to North Florida Council, and then he should be able to see the Scout and try to transfer the Scout.

Good Evening! I have several parents that seem to have multiple accounts or an account for each scout. Is there a way to fix this?

@MelissaCrouthamel

Post the BSA Member IDs (no names) and we will investigate.

Thanks! There are a few that I think I identified their primary one. I marked them with **

14916613** and 140168723

14017479** and 136472188

14694196 and 14669760**

This have different versions of their names…

14694183** and 14619531

140908555 and 140912513

14925513 and 14924090

This user has 2 usernames (logins) at my.Scouting. One has Google sign in turned on. The other is an e-mail address. If you let us know which username he would like to keep, we can retire the other one.

I recommend that the local council use their Registrar Tools to look up his children. In the “Relationships” section, he should be removed as parent under his secondary BSA member ID number. Then they should add him as parent under his primary BSA member ID number.

This one is fixed.

Here’s another, please!

Member ID 141379221, request to merge with another account using same email k*****@******r.us

This account belongs to a grandparent, who is working with his grandson, BSA ID 141122637.

When they completed the youth application electronically, they entered the mother’s info, so that was the account created in MYST.

We then added the grandfather in an account through SB. He had access for about 60 days(?) but then lost access.

So, we had the registrar add the grandparent to the youth profile in MYST, and now we have the two accounts.

Please merge.

And thank you!

Scouter Rob

@ScouterRob This user’s Scoutbook accounts have been merged. Your local council can also merge duplicate Scoutbook accounts using their Volunteer Support Tools (VST).

Thanks, Jennifer! I’ll point our Registrar in that direction.

Similar issue. We have a parent with 2 accounts as well. Please merge onto the newest account:

New Account: 141383430 username & password
Old Account: 141377685 google sign in

Thank you

@StevenWalker3 Does she want us to retire to username that has Google sign in turned on?
