Merging accounts and connections to scouts

I recently posted about not being able to get my scout registered because of no connection to my current ID number. It turns out that because I have multiple(7) ID numbers(army family), that my daughters are connected to me through different ones. Two of them are from the same council and I have no clue why. I have spoken to the person in charge of registrar duties in our current council and she is newer so she hasn’t been a ton of help with getting the matter taken care of. She just offers to put in an IT ticket and around and around we go. I also emailed our former council (National Capital Area) and the registrar just recommended trying to work with our current council. At this point I have no idea what to do or who can help me.

if anyone can help I would appreciate it. My scout ID number is: (removed by Moderator) and DOB (removed by Moderator)

Thank you,

Amanda Barlow

If you are reporting an issue with My.Scouting, please include all of the following items so we can better assist you:
1) Hardware: Desktop or Mobile (if mobile, please be specific)
2) Operating system
3) Browser
4) Browser cache has been cleared or you are using a private browsing mode (aka Incognito Window in Chrome)
5) Member ID & Council of person affected
Thank you!)

What is your current council?

Calcasieu. The lady is trying hard to be helpful. I know she is fairly new to the job.

@AmandaBarlow I have fixed what I can. Your primary member ID (MID) number in Calcasieu Council is the one that ends in -916.

@AmandaBarlow If this is regarding registering your Scout with first initial J., all you should need to do is log into your my.Scouting account, then click on the link from beascout.org that you want to join. She is not currently registered, so you cannot do a transfer.

Yes, it is involving the scout with the first initial J. Do I make her a new account? It asks me if she is a former/current scout and I say yes. It allows me to get all the way to the end before the checkout screen and when I sign and click on “checkout” it tells me that I do not have access for that.

Also, is it ok that my other daughter was transferred to her new Troop on one of my other numbers? I don’t want to eventually lose access to her. Her first initial is P.

@AmandaBarlow Try registering J., but do not check the box for former/current Scout, and see if that works.

Let us know afterwards.

Ok, looks like it’s going to let me register her. Will it connect her back to her previous advancement info?

Not sure. But we can fix it, if needed.

@JenniferOlinger, is that going to trigger the “new to scouting” fee?

Its said, BSA traditional $85, Council Fee $65, and Admin Fee OLR $4.64

Just wanted to make sure I asked. It’s not an easy thing to recover fees paid after the fact. :^)

Thank you for all of your help! So now that she has a new number, do we wait to see if her advancements connect or how can we get them moved over?

@AmandaBarlow Wait 24 hours and let us know how things look tomorrow (after the overnight sync runs).
