Merit Badge Counselor - no listed badges

One of our MBC (who is also an ASM in our troop. His ID# 13725182) received an automatic email from Scoutbook that said:

“Your council has recently uploaded a new list of council-approved merit badge counselors. That list does not include your name or other information which allows Scoutbook to determine that you are an approved merit badge counselor. This could be for any number of reasons, including different spellings of names.

At this time Scoutbook is no longer listing you as a merit badge counselor. If you feel that you have received this email in error, please contact your local service center. Once your status is updated by the council, your status will also be updated in Scoutbook.”

We contacted the council with that information but they don’t know what is happening. We were told that it still shows him as MBC to all of his approved MBs in his my.scouting profile. And they did a re-sync to try to update him over a week ago. Nothing has changed.

All of his MBC connections to various scouts have been removed, he can’t counselor approve any MB requirements, and when we look at his Scoutbook profile it says that he can approve MBs, but it doesn’t list any specific ones.

What else can we do to get it straightened out?

@MaryMcCain council has not assigned MBs to the User - if they do not know how to fix they can open a Membercare Ticket

@MaryMcCain The user’s MBC position expired / lapsed 05/31/2025.

This user also has the positions of Committee Member and Assistant Scoutmaster in the same unit, which the software is supposed to prevent.
