Need to create an account on my.scouting.org for my child but I cannot

I am trying to create an account in my.scouting.org for my son so I can print his membership card (now needed for Seabase). When I click create account I am asked to provide his information (First, Last, DOB and ZIP). I do that and click next. It successfully recovers the rest of his info (including member ID etc). The pop-up says “We found a match in our file with your information. Select the appropriate record and retrieve your information. If you do not have an account tied to this record you will be prompted to create one.” It shows a single account that is checked. When I then click retreive information it just cycles back to the original create account page. It never actually makes the account.

In addition to my son, we’ve got 10 other scouts who have likely never needed to create their account in my.scouting.org before and a week till we fly down so I’m hoping there’s an easy fix I can share with them and their parents.

Thanks for any insights.

Tech details: Dell Laptop running Windows. Error occurs in both Chrome & Edge, including after clearing cache.

@BretonBienvenue that user already has a log in from 2023 - I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green envelope > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)

Or Council can probably help you with it

User might want to try using the BOT at m,y.scouting.org in bottom right corner - say forgot password.

Thank you! With a little nudging my son remembered he HAD logged into scouting.org ages ago. So we were able to get things sorted out :slight_smile:

@BretonBienvenue If you just need membership cards, the troop’s leadership (Scoutmaster, Committee Chair, Chartered Org. Rep., or Key 3 Delegates as designated at my.Scouting) can get those at my.Scouting.

  1. After logging in at my.Scouting.
  2. Go to the troop’s Roster page.
  3. Select the individual(s).
  4. In the gray menu bar, click on: Print → Membership Cards
  5. Then click on “Export to PDF”.
