We had a large number of Scouts with pending “Needs Approval” items. Using the Needs Approval report I was able to click on the names of about half of the Scouts and see the individual requirements awaiting approval. For the other half of the Scouts in the report, clicking on the individual’s name brings up the " Whoops! We encountered an error trying to process your request." message. This has been happening since yesterday, so far I’ve tried in Firefox and Chrome on desktop.
BSA ID’s for the Scouts that I cannot access through Needs Approval report: 137263730, 140259355, 133600033, 134603610, 133599959, 133599979, 14778871, 135749562,135367093, 136357993, 134753696, 134484681.
I can’t figure out any common link between the Scouts who it was working for and those it isn’t working for. All are showing on my screen as synced with the national database on our unit roster.
That is usually a timeout error - have you tried an Incognito Window @BrianD_Amico
Thanks for the suggestion. I had not tried it yet but I have now tried it in incognito Chrome and Firefox on desktop and both regular/incognito in the Android version of both of those browsers on my phone. All attempts have gotten the same error on those specific Scouts no matter which browser method I’ve tried.
Do any of those scouts still show a membership in a pack in Scoutbook that doesn’t have an end date on it? As Donovan noted, that isn’t usually what manifests as a Whoops error, but I’m wondering if it’s creating a timeout somehow that’s triggering the Whoops error.
I am having the same issue. Was able to do for two Scouts then I keep getting “oops” page that says to come here, but there’s no fix available.
I don’t believe so. I just checked a handful of these profiles and they only have the troop as their current membership. Some of the profiles with issues were never in Cubs either.
Thanks. I know that dangling pack membership can cause headaches with recording MB for Scouts BSA, so I figured I’d ask to see if that might be an interaction effect here.
I haven’t been able to reproduce the issue (Firefox, standard browsing with various plugins active) with any of the scouts in my troop that I’ve played with, but that’s obviously not 100% diagnostic either.
I am not sure what is happening here either - I have been able to mark my awards as approved on all scouts except my Webelos and AOL. This is hindering my purchase. Do I need to call the shop to see if they can manually update behind the scenes?
I noticed there was a brief Scoutbook maintenance period this morning and after that, I WAS able to successfully access those member’s Needs Approval reports and mark their advancement as approved.
