I have a new adult leader that just registered, completed YPT and was accepted by our COR, but is not showing up in our Packs Roster of registered adults on my.scouting so we are unable to put him into the leadership postion of Den Leader on my.scouting. The adult is showing up on our rosters in scoutbook, and we have been able to assign them as a Den Leader there.
How do we figure out where the disconnect is and get this solved as the adult is not getting the required training details for his position showing up in his Training on my.scouting nor do we see the details on our packs information.
He was active as a youth in scouting so I suspect he has another account somewhere in the system that will need to get merged at some point, but would like to get him registered and aligned first and then we can sort that out.
Any tips or help would be appreciated to get this resolved.
@GregPalleschi my.scouting.org roster is the official one - what is the Member # of the user?
What this might mean is that the criminal background check (CBC) has not come back yet.
Yeah - it is a CBC bounce we see on occasion - app goes through then the CBC goes into effect and makes it odd for a few days
So will this automatically clear then in a few days, or do we need to request some sort of reset or process? The application is closed in my.scouting so how will we know when the background check has come back?
@GregPalleschi - when the CBC comes back clean they will be on the roster at my.scouting.org and automatically on the roster in scoutbook and scoutbook plus
@GregPalleschi
First, a definition of terms - the application should be Completed, not Closed. A K3 can check the status in Application Manager by changing the sort and then searching by name. Completed means progressing to the background check process. Closed means stopped - effectively either withdrawn or refused, for a variety of reasons.
Second, the sync between My.Scouting Roster and Scoutbook typically (should) happens after the background check clears. Background checks seem to take less than four days. If it’s been four days, I suggest a phone call to your registrar to ask the status, only because the person is already showing in SB. I normally wait 7-10 days. The disclaimer is It can take up to two weeks - only sometimes is this due to some internal discussion of a background issue.
Thank you, @dougwright. That’s some great advice. I will give the registrar a call on Tues when they are open if he hasn’t shown up by then.
