When I hit the “new topic” button it does not immediately bring up the new topic form. Instead, the form is displayed after I select one of the treads in the forum. It still appears that it is creating a new topic, just now in the background, you see a different thread.
@NealMcGuire - as the forum is external to scoutbook it would be more of a discourse related issue. But is certainly makes sense that a new top would need to be started under the categories that exist within the framework created.

I have been able to recreate your issue. I don’t know if this is due to a Discourse problem or the BSA’s installation. I’ll pass this on to BSA IT for further investigation.
