Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
Hi, I have several events that have been previously added to the Activity Logs in Scoutbook Plus, now I’m trying to add the scouts who attended each but I’m getting a “No Data” message and it is not displaying any names. I can still see the full roster of the Troop and add merit badge/advancement updates, I just can’t add the scouts to activities. I was able to update an activity roster just a few days ago on 10/31.
Our leadership went in and said they set me as Advancement Chair so I should have permissions needed to add scouts to the Activities, but it’s still showing the error message for me. I can add and edit the activity listings fine, I just can’t add Scouts to them. Is there another separate permission I need to be granted to do so?
I can see the regular Troop roster fine, and I can do all other rank and merit badge advancement things fine.
Thanks for the help, I’m now able to add scouts to activity rosters so they can get credit for camping nights, hiking miles, and service hours.
Out of the three abilities that were highlighted in blue I would have thought that the Activity would have been the one that grants the permissions that control adding scouts to the activity roster. However when my unit leaders only added that it still didn’t work, which prompted my second message above. It was only after adding the Calendar and Unit abilities that I was able to do so.
Under normal circumstances the Advancement Chair in our Troop doesn’t need to edit/add calendar events or edit the Unit profile so having those added just to be able to edit Activity rosters seems extraneous. But whatever the case, I’m now able to do what I need to.
