It might be a bug, but no one supporting that system is on the forums. So, council has to report it to national member care.
Same issue here, renewed myself and husband, but cannot renew our son, this is super frustrating.
@MistyMelillo- did you read the post above yours…
About the bug reports? I dont see any solutions yet, did I miss something? I’ve been trying to fix this for hours. Contacted leadership of our troop to advise.
@MistyMelillo- this has to be reported to your council and they can enter a member care ticket. This is not localized to certain users. Beyond that the team for my.scouting.org is not on the forums
@WilliamElton FYI - Two unrelated things.

The “No Organization for renewal are active” seems to be a system wide issue.

Once unit renewal is submitted and payment is released, your Council has to approve
Same issue from at least four different units in our district this morning (12/24/25). So, obviously, this isn’t an isolated problem with one person’s account. I think the short answer for unit leaders and parents is that many families will not be able to renew today and they will need to wait till someone figures out what the message means. Acknowledge that this is frustrating, we’re sorry, and we’ll work on fixing it. I will report our local issues to my district executive and one of the council registrars here in the National Capital Area Council.
@AnnMacPhail- unfortunately there is nobody from the my.scouting.org team on these forums to make that statement
Well, my statement is here in case anyone searches for this topic and finds it like I did!
Update: a member of our troop and district committee had the same error message this morning. We tried a lot of things: clicking on some message about renewing positions in other councils, signing out and back in again, going up to the alarm bell for notifications, and… I don’t know what solved the problem, but eventually that grayed-out button changed and he was able to proceed to renewal.
Hello I do not have the proper organizations listed on my account for Renewal. I was a multiple with a different organization. My committee chair actually told me they dont even see my on their roster. I am only with 1 organization now and need to renew both my son and myself. All the info is inaccurate even my son appears as a youth with the wrong org but I know he is in the right one.
I am getting error in membership renewal. No organizations for renewal are active. What is the solution ? Please help.
@VenkanagoudaGoudar - as has been stated here many times, please contact your local council
@JosephMartini- if are not on the unit roster at my.scouting.org then you will need to submit an application to the unit.
Stephen_Honark Thank you! I am in Union City/Fremont , I tried to contact Golden Gate Council on phone (925) 674-6100 they are not available. Nobody is answering. It is frustrating. I will try to contact on Monday. It
Here is what I suspect (with no actual way to prove this). With all the changes and updates to Scoutbook over the last month it may not be able to deal with the Renewal/Recharter thing. If you look at some of the reports on my.scouting concerning renewal there are currently lots of weird things.
Here is my prediction/hope. On January 1st the Recharter that is currently pending will rollover and become active. Then hopefully everyone with this bug will have an active organization again. I have this feeling that this was something that councils may need to do in order to make the organization active again. We are in between and currently belong to the Limbo Council. I suspect that once January 1 rolls around either something will happen and we will all be alive on my.scouting again; Or councils will finally realize they have a big problem when half their membership suddenly shows up expired and entering the two-month grace period (don’t worry if you don’t hit the deadline of December 31st). They have plenty of time to figure this out.
I am waiting till 1am on January 1 to try again. Meanwhile Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thank you so much Thomas!
Many businesses are closed today to give their staff a 4 day weekend.
Just adding here – we are seeing the same thing for at least one unit in my District, and I (District Commissioner) already confirmed their Unit Renewal is in “Posted” status already. I don’t know if my Council will open a National Membercare ticket or not…
It is not available to volunteers. It is available to staff at your council office. It is Scouting America’s technology helpdesk.
I def did all of the above. I’m pretty sure its just another example of the Org not having its ducks in a row and rolling out programs that dont work.
