"opt out" of renewal says that I am not authorized. I am key 3. authorized by charter rep

I am trying to update opt out internet recharter for a scout that the option is available. when I click save it says I am not authorized.

@AnthonyDeSimone we are trying to get an understanding of this and will get back to you

thank you. FYI, I am trying to remove a boy that dropped out that is up for renewal in a month. My unit will pay renewals, so need to remove auto renewal.

yeah we are not 100% sure what it does

Was this resolved? I am having the same issue for my pack and I’m the cubmaster.

@JohnMatzke

This is an issue where you need to contact your Council.

Thanks Don, they don’t know yet, they are having the same issue.
They had me & us all log in to try but none of us could get it so far.
If you were to find out any thig it would be grate.

@EdwardKrohn

We have heard that once opted out a new application is needed to renew. There is not an option to undo the opt out.

Thanks, that would make sense, what don’t make sense is the never opted out.
I will pass this along to Buffalo trace council. Thanks

The council professionals have an internal way to reach out to national to get clarification/submit bugs on registration issues. They may not know the answer, but they should be able to at least raise the issue with the folks who can find out or get it fixed.

Also have this problem with one of my Scouts. Waiting to hear from the Council.

That does sound logical but in reality the issue is ongoing for us. I’m about 90 days into my own “opt out” issue and there’s not yet been a path that anyone at council level can take to remedy the condition. Hoping for someone to shine a bright light and soon as I am “expired”.

The council can submit a MemberCare ticket to get it fixed by national (or at least get it on their list), even if they themselves can’t solve the issue. This is a critical step because literally no one on these boards can do anything about it other than commiserate and the relevant team at national only takes bug tickets from council staff.

Roger that CH -I’ll go over to council in the am and request that a MemberCare ticket be submitted. Thanks to you at least I know the right thing to ask for! Have a good night!
