Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I have some committee members that in the past were given Pack Admin permissions. This allows them full control over every scout in the unit. There is no reason for them to have this access any longer.
I’ve removed the Pack Admin permissions (leaving just the Committee Member) and cleaned old connections in Scoutbook but they still have connections to past scouts and they are still getting connected to new scouts.
I can go through and delete each individual connection for each scout and leader but there has to be a better way, especially when new scouts are getting connected automatically.
@TravisStephens what is the leader BSA # and what is the unit? To Fix you can go to Roster > ConnectionManager > click adult name to change all connections at once
On your pack roster page in Legacy Scoutbook, go to Connection Manager then click on the leader’s name and the connection type you want. This will change all Scouts except their children.
On the leader’s Connection page, use Clean Old Connections. This should remove connections to Scouts no longer in the unit.
I tried ConnectionManager the other day and it would not let me change any of the permissions, it was grayed out to Full Control. Today it seems to let me save but time will tell on another new scout joining.
@edavignon
I had tried Clean Old Connections which removed 76 but not the current scouts. In my case (as opposed to other threads I’ve seen) it’s not an issue of old scouts being connected to leaders but old leaders being connected to scouts.
I’ll see if clearing via Connection Manager (now that it let me) will work whenever another new scout joins.
