Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
We have a new adult leader and parent who seems to have ended up with two Scoutbook accounts, both with the same BSA member ID and email address (but not connected to each other).
Could someone take a look for us?
Parent / leader BSA ID is 14454081
Scout / child BSA ID is 141516657
In Scoutbook’s roster, clicking on the leader produces an error:
Child shows connected to the parent (with correct member ID) but that record then doesn’t show the parent is a leader. When I click to edit profile in Scoutbook Plus, I see a different record for the parent and for the leader - but both have the same BSA member ID and the same email address.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this? The parent cannot see their child’s progress when they log into Scoutbook today.
Thanks - that worked and confirms that when I click through to Edit Profile, I’m seeing two different records (first line of address is slightly different, parent record doesn’t show YPT etc.)
OK that is fixed - the Scouts AKELA (Registration) parents are a little messy – I recommend that They contact your local council and ask them to use the Registrar Tools to look up the children. When they look up the children, they want to check children’s “User Relationship” and make sure that children are connected to parent with Only the correct BSA member ID number that they can log into
Weirdly both records show the same BSA member ID. Do you know what guidance I can give Council on how to differentiate which record to make sure the child is connected to, given that the BSA member ID is the same?
