Do scouts need to be assigned to a patrol before the parent can view them in SB+? There is a relationship between the mother and the son in Akela and I have synced that to SB+. She still cannot view him. MID 137552970 and MID 137438667.
At the top right of SB+ - is she selecting the Parent Profile for that scout?

Also, when I look in the VST, the relationship is only in Akela. She is not listed in Scoutbook as his mother. I have synced from both profiles to Scoutbook when I first added her in the relationship tab. For some reason, it is not saving in Scoutbook.
That is a known reported issue
