Perhaps not - MBC is a council position not a unit position, but the MBs should show there.
@TheodoreScheiblich There are a couple places you can check for yourself to see if you are registered as a merit badge counselor.
- At my.scouting, go to:
Menu → My Profile
and scroll down to the “Registrations” section.
- In Scoutbook, go to:
My Dashboard → Administration → My Account → My Positions
If you are registered as a MBC, you should see “Merit Badge Counselor” listed in the “My Current Positions & Roles” section.
In addition:
-
You can search MBCs by name by using Scoutbook’s “MB Counselor List” search function.
-
If you have the correct permissions at my.scouting, you might be able to access the Council Merit Badge Counselor Listing report. It can be found at:
[your unit] → Roster → Reports
Thank you Jennifer! I have checked all of those sources. I’ve also looked through the roster of adult leader profiles. I do not see a single active MBC listed in my unit (understanding they are council-approved positions). I know we have submitted MBC paperwork within the last year. There’s a problem here somewhere. I’ll need to give a call to the council this week to sort it out.
I have had the same thing happen - I have an approved list of badges I can help with, but I show on Scoutbook.my.scouting as zero - so I can’t connect to youth. Unless I have a second BSA number as a parent and as a MBC?
I only see one account or member ID for you. You will need to contact your Council to find out why they did not record any MBs in the system for you.
