Request: Merge of Multiple Member IDs

Request merging of multiple member IDs:

Member ID: 141007611 (TAC - primary)
Member ID: 141023281 (TAC)
Member ID: 137219428 (Aloha Council)
Member ID: 13413973 (National Capital Area Council)

@4Scouts are these yours? there is no merging Member IDs - the user can log into my.scouting.org > Click Manage Member ID > one of the BSA # will be there marked PRIMARY > as long as the info is the same then add the other MID (BSA #) - you want to make the one that is your unit registration PRIMARY. If it fails SUAC can help as all the personal Info has to match. Another complication with this is the Parent relationship for registrations with is tied to Member ID - it is best to ask Council to also check that.

@4Scouts looks like all those are setup for this. Are there hanging old SB users that are causing issues?

My scout parent is having a hard time transferring their scout. I have a feeling it is because the scout has multiple BSA numbers that need to be merged. The error code we receive is “User doesn’t have access to API” can you please let me know if these two member IDS need to be merged? 140526308 and 137345412 and if not, does anything look wonky on your end?

@JamieHaller Is the gaining unit in the same council as the Scout’s current unit?

It is not. The gaining unit is council 544

@JamieHaller What steps / process are they using to try to make the transfer?

They are using my.scouting

@JamieHaller This is just a theory on my part, but the Dad is listed as a parent “Relationship” to the Scout under a member ID number that belongs to a different council. If the local council (209) uses their Registrar Tools to remove the Dad as a parent “Relationship”, then maybe it will work.

For the parents, they have multiple BSA ID’s. Are you able to look and merge them if neccesary?

@JamieHaller Member ID numbers cannot be merged; they can only be managed (Manage Member ID at my.Scouting). Scoutbook accounts can be merged.

In this case, the Mom has 4 MIDs. She probably needs to keep 2 of the Scoutbook accounts unmerged until she is done making all of the transfers.

I have done what I can with the Dad. He does not have a MID in 544 yet.
