Adding an activity from April 2025. Once all the info was added, I clicked add person, but the roster didn’t populate. The issue persists tonight. I am the advancement chair and troop admin. Why is this not working? How do we fix it?
@RebeccaHager1 when I have seen this it seems to be a cache issue - try an incognito window - if that works clear your cache
I also have this issue and clearing the cache and incognito mode have no impact on the roster appearing for me. I can do other things to log advancement but I am not able to record service hours or camping nights. This makes my job as advancement chair difficult when I can’t keep records accurate. I had this issue a couple weeks ago and thought perhaps it was a system glitch but the problem still exists for me. I’d appreciate some additional guidance.
Thanks, Heidi
Being Unit Advancement Chair does not automatically convey permissions to edit activity logs, per the PDF document linked from the blue banner at the top of the page. In fact, the default permissions are pretty limited:
The Unit Key 3 or Key 3 Delegates need to go in and assign any of the “optional” permissions under the new permissions manager in SB+.
Regarding the roster, have y’all also gone to the filters and reset them?
The filters were revised a few weeks ago (I think?), and a new set of filters were added (the ones marked 2A in my screenshot). On desktop, click on the filter drop-down (1) then on the Reset Filters button in red (2) should reset them to display all. On mobile, the button doesn’t (or didn’t) appear. In that case, I had success by selecting all of the boxes that I marked as 2A in the screenshot, and my roster reappeared.
I tried your suggestion without resolution. I appreciate your input.
Thanks for the info - the roster displays for me on the “roster” page. It just doesn’t display for the activity logs. I’ve been able to do this for a long time and now I can’t. It seems like perhaps I need to follow-up with one of our key 3 to see if something is different with my permissions in the last several weeks.
Same here. I was recently made a troop admin to remedy this type of issue. It’s quite frustrating that it is happening again.
Everyone’s permissions were impacted by the global changes to the SB+ permissions structure about two weeks ago. That might be the underlying issue in your case, although I haven’t seen this particular manifestation before.
Yeah, the Troop Admin role is defunct now that the permissions structure changed. However, the more granular structure can achieve everything between minimal access and “the keys to the kingdom”, without having to give everyone keys just do they are automatically connected to new scouts or just do they can edit logs and calendar.
The transition appears to be challenging. That’s balanced against the structure of the permissions system now being much more flexible, so units can be more specific about what they want each role/scouter to be able to do in the system.
I hope the matter is simple enough to resolve for those who do “have the keys to the castle.”
I’m still waiting to hear from the scoutmasters that I work with. One is at a winter camp as I type.
