I saw that there were 4 posts on a previous thread from 2019 that was closed, but the Advancement committee that I serve on was given access to the sandbox and I used it for Council training that I conducted in December of 2019. I was asked to help out with a Scoutbook leader training session in my District and was hoping to be able to use the sandbox again. Additionally, when polling leaders for topics to cover, access to a sandbox was brought up. They were hesitent to try and figure out how things worked in the event that they make a permenant change that wasn’t intended, so a sandbox would offer them a safe place to experiment.
@RobertDelaat - i am not certain that the sandbox will be viable.
@RobertDelaat there will be no sandbox moving forward - Scoutbook for Troops, Crews and Ships - Scoutbook Knowledge Base - At top of this page is a 1 hour video - the purpose is to provide a training platform - SUAC is trying to keep this video up-to-date

Continuing the discussion from Sand box for training:
Yes, I know this topic just closed a couple of days ago, but here’s another request for a Scoutbook Plus Sandbox. I’m working on my Roundtable presentation for this month for using Scoutbook and I’m really missing a hands-on platform for my leaders to use. I appreciate the SUAC keeping the video up to date, but that is not an adequate way to teach a crowd. I work in corporate training for a living and can tell you that while the video is nice, we need a sandbox environment to train others. As well, I’m associated with a troop and I can’t even show anything on my end for the Packs (which is the main breakout I present for). I get that it’s not a priority and will require additional resources to run, but this is something that is really required for ANY digital program development. It has to exist (or have existed) at some point to beta test the system, right? It’s frustrating. How can I be a successful volunteer if we aren’t given the tools we need to succeed? I know the answer will be no, but a better question is who do I need to present the data to on why this is a necessary thing?
Scouting America IT has told the SUAC there are no plans to create a sandbox for Scoutbook Plus. Your only option at this point to convince your Council staff of its importance and get them to open a Member Care ticket. If enough Councils request a sandbox, t may convince Scouting America IT to reconsider.
