SB+ - manual acceptance does not work with scouts set to auto renewal

Is there a step that can be put in the auto renewals for scouts where I have to click something before their renewal completes?

We are looking at seeing if it could be an option if they have a negative outstanding balance in their scout account that we can flag it until a payment arrangement etc or payment is made.

I have it set to manual acceptance. It works on new scout registrations, but I want it on renewals too. Looking at it now, it does not state in text if it’s a new registration or a renewal registration. We have it set to approve them manually.
Under my.scouting.org, Organization manager, Settings

Membership Application Approval

Select who has the ability to accept (approve) applications for your unit. Note: this applies only to adult applications

Chartered Org Representative Approval Required
CHECKED Committee Chair Recommendation and Chartered Org Representative Approval Required

Youth Applications

UNCHECKED Automatically Accept Youth Applications to this Unit.

It does not do it for scouts set to auto renewal on their registration. It looks like it wasn’t designed for it but since we have subscription we should set it.

Renewals are handled via my.scouting.org. You may need to reach out to your Council for assistance with your question.

@edavignon Can we get answer from my.scouting.org? My understanding is council doesn’t have say on the online renewals when a parent has it set to be done by credit card.

@FrankSplain

The SUAC does not have contact on the my.scouting.org team and they do not monitor the forums. If you do not get an answer from another volunteer, you will have to work via your Council.

My gut feeling is this is working the way Scouting America wants it to work. I doubt they want units to block renewals. If you are having trouble with families not paying their balances, about your only recourse is to either stop advancing credit or telling families they can’t go on outings until the balance is paid. Per the Guide to Advancement units may not withhold advancement for lack of payment.

Yes my initial guess would be National would ask “why you are extending credit to families then?”

But council has the directives on matters like this though, and the contacts for more clarity.

where is the guide to advancement located? thanks
