My wife has recently been appointed as unit communications coordinator. She’s responsible for getting out the weekly newsletter to the troop. She’s been trying to use the messaging system in Scoutbook plus but is finding that the messages are not going out. There’s no indication of error, but they just never arrive. If she goes into the legacy scoutbook and does the same, it seems to be working fine.
She has a registered position of Committee Member. Functional positions of Unit Support and Subunit Support.
Any ideas what else we can be looking at to solve this?
There’s a known issue with larger groups of recipients that’s been impacting units. I’m not sure it’s known exactly what the “breakpoint” is for large vs small enough. The recommendation I got in the interim was to continue using classic Scoutbook for messaging until a fix is announced.
I just sent out a message and had the same issue. Our troop can hardly be classified as large as the email only went out to 26 people. If Scouts don’t have email addresses does the Event RSVP automatically go to the parent?
I went to Scoutbook legacy to send the message, but I’m new to the Troop and never had admin rights in Scoutbook Legacy, so I can’t send the message that way either.
You need at least a view profile connection in legacy scoutbook to use legacy messaging. A Key 3 member can easily access connection manager from the legacy troop roster page and click your name to assign view profile permissions with all scouts.
