Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I’m having issues sending an email to our pack. When I go in to Legacy Scoutbook to send a message, I am getting a message that says: In order to use this page you must be part of an active pack or troop subscription.
Any idea how to fix this issue? I was able to send an email on 8/9/25 but now I’m getting this error.
@JillJacobs-Tunks - i suspect your membership has expired. I would suggest logging into my.scouting.org to check your membership status. I know that function is working for me.
Is this a recent change in access privileges made system-wide? Asking because I was able to send messages all last year and just sent one on August 9. My husband and I are Popcorn Kernels so we communicate with our Pack regularly.
Also, confirming that when you say “registered leader” you mean the official Scouts designation? If yes, then the answer is No, neither my husband nor I are registered leaders and we weren’t last year either.
@JillJacobs-Tunks- if had been that messaging was related to connections in scoutbook. In order for a parent to use messaging they had to be connected to every scout in the unit with view only. I am not certain if that is still the case if it is then you are no longer connected. If that is no longer the case and that only registered adults can use that feature then registration is the only solution
