One thing I add to my Individual Advancement Records for Scouts BSA that is very useful is the Scout’s birthdate and the date for when they turn 18. It would be great if that could be printed on the report automatically.
A Scout’s date of birth is considered Personally Identifiable Information so it is purposely left off of reports. I doubt Scouting America will add it to the individual advancement record or history reports.
A Scout’s birthdate is readily available under their profile information.
There is a difference between having it available on a restricted page vs a report that can be printed.
If you feel strongly about this contact your council and see if they will open a ticket to get it added. Scouting America security would ultimately need to sign off though and could decide to remove all leader access to dates of birth.
I understand what you are saying, but we carry around their health forms that have that same info and more on it… so I don’t really see the difference. I thought this forum was for Scoutbook developers to see ideas and consider? That’s what I was told when I messaged the Scoutbook FB page. Going through a council would likely be a waste of time and energy.
The developers are not direct participants on the boards here. Generally, the SUAC members are the conduit for bug reports and feature requests. The developers themselves do not make the final call on what does and doesn’t get adopted for development. That’s done by national staff.
The SUAC may already be aware of information they can’t share with us (due to NDAs), and thus already know that some requests wont pass muster. Also, some types of requests may need to be pushed up via the council professional staff, again for reasons the rest of us may not be privy to.
Understood. Thanks for the info!
I can start a new post if you want me to. I’ve tried searching the database with no luck. What happened to the percentage complete on printed Individual Advancement Records. No partials are showing on printed reports for any of my scouts.
@JillBlance this part may have been missed in the transition from the old IAR to the newer Scouts BSA IAR. We are asking the developers to check. If there is an update/fix, it will be noted in the change log.

@JillBlance The Individual Advancement Record (IAR) report should be fixed to add percentage complete:
