I had a new scout register for my pack. However when i accepted his membership, Scoutbook populated my pack with an active child from another state. I double checked his application and i see no errors. The child populated has the same name as the child that registered. It also added a "connection’ between the parent of the child trying to enter my pack with that of the child from another state. I’ve tried going through my council and they are just as stumped as I am
We have seen this happen when they have the same name and DOB. What is the scout’s bsa member number, and what is the member number of parent who is supposed to be in your unit?
The member number (one who should not be there) is 13876532
The parent’s member number (of the child who should be there) is 141057557
Just to double check, the correct dad for your unit also has the same first name as the scout? I see a user name on the scout which is very unusual for a youth of that age. I suspect the dad is logging into the scout’s account.
Other than that, this is cleaned up. I requested a sync to bring the scout back into your unit and add the proper parent connection. This could take up to 24 hours.

Ok, I also described the username on the scout’s account. Dad needs to user the login with Google button going forward since that’s activated on HIS account.
Also, the leaders in your pack should each run clean old connections from their connections page to remove their connection to the incorrect scout and others no longer in your unit.
I have two cub scouts that were registered last year but somehow never showed up in scoutbook. One has been active for a few years in scoutbook except last year. the other one was new. We have always used packmaster until we began transitioning to scoutbook this summer. My assumption is the council failed to register these two last year and I didn’t notice since we didn’t use scoutbook or upload or own advancements until this summer. Now both are registered but they each are listed twice two SB numbers and only one showing a BSA Member ID. How do I get the scouts profile to merge together?

The incorrect is not longer showing up on our pack roster, thus i cannot “clean old connections”. My understanding though is that this automatically happens when a scout is removed from a unit. I would guess though that the Dad of the correct scout may still need to log on and sever his connection from the incorrect scout.
I still saw a connection between you and the incorrect scout. But maybe a process took care of it afterwards.
