Scoutbook+ IA Feature Request: Advancement Requirements in Calendar Events

Good Morning Team!

I would like to add a feature request to the Scoutbook+ IA Calendar backlog to bring back functionality that was available in the legacy Scoutbook Calendar: the adding of Advancement requirements to meetings.

My Pack (706 in Heart of Virginia Council/602) and Dens used this feature quite a bit last year to track advancement planning so leaders knew which adventures were scheduled to be completed when, so were disappointed when this capability was not included in the initial SB+ Calendar. Is there any plan to add this yet or if not can we add this to the backlog?

Thanks!

The planned advancement feature did not work properly and required a lot of maintenance to keep it up to date. Considering the Cub Scout program is now only adventures that can be done in a single meeting, the complexity of the former planned advancement should not be needed. We recommend just using the Description field to indicate what adventure(s) will be worked on at any given meeting.

Thanks for that information. We liked the feature because it then showed in the Parents’ view which requirements were to be completed on which meetings/outings, and found that helped parents identify their Scout’s progress and any items that needed to be worked on at home in a single view, rather than having to drill down into every single meeting/outing and review what was missed.

Completely understand the maintenance/complexity requirements, however I still think that even with the program changes having this visibility would be a net positive parent experience, but we can adapt and communicate this out in alternate ways for now.

@Michael-Raymond - beyond what Ed had noted, some where under the impression that the planned advancement actually updated advancement which it did not. I used it once and then never again after that as it never held value for my pack.
