Scoutmaster Digital Signature on pocket certificate

We are attempting to print out the Merit Badge pocket certificates for a CoH, I can attach the date completed and other fields but when I select “add digital signature” it provides a drop down box that includes a number of our adult leaders BUT NOT our Scoutmaster. The SM is registered, has a valid YPT/SYT and is listed in position manager as Scoutmaster. Any suggestions for fixing or troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

@KarlGray1 - are you talking about this:

I do not see a dropdown

@KarlGray1

I was unable to reproduce what you are seeing. If you can generate a video, I can send you a direct message so you can provide the video for the developers.

So when I select “Include e-signature:” a drop down box appears “select a leader from” (see screen shot). It includes our adult leaders BUT the list does not include the Scoutmaster for some reason (as explained in the original post).

@KarlGray1 - I do not ever get the box with the drop-down and list. The cards print with the scoutmaster name.

What is your scoutmaster’s member number (no names)?

The Scoutmaster’s Member ID is 125132904

Yes on our Girls Troop when I select eSignature it just automatically attaches the SM name, I’ve never come across this either.

@KarlGray1 - the scoutmaster shows in the roster at advancements.scouting.org? Your troop is it washington crossing council or somewhere else.. just curious

Yes, all registered, listed in the role in organization manager, has valid YPT/SYT. No we’re in a different Council.

I merged several accounts for him and cleaned up some old positions that he wasn’t registered in. Give it overnight to fully process and try in the morning.

Perfect! Thank you, I’ll check tomorrow and report back. :+1:

Okay so here’s an update, our Scoutmaster now shows up in the drop down list! :partying_face: But it still shows the drop down list of all our adult leaders. It’s not really an issue, in fact I could see advantages at times but I’m wondering why that is an option for our Boys Troop but not our Girls Troop (or the other Troops that people have referenced on this thread).

@KarlGray1 - on the boy troop are there ASM’s assigned to patrols Your role is the same in both units. Grasping at straws on this one but certainly finding the differences between the troops could lead to why that is showing up.

@KarlGray1

Is there more than one SM in your Scoutbook roster?

No just one SM, a couple of ASMs and Committee members.

Ok so this “fixed” it!! I noticed that all the adults in the Girls Troop were assigned to a Patrol (Ask Your SPL patrol! : ), so I assigned all the leaders in the Boys Troop to a Patrol (also Ask Your SPL patrol!) and that fixed it! Now when I click on “add eSignature” there is no drop down list, it just adds the SM’s signature by default.

You definitely shouldn’t have to assign every adult to a patrol.

I found that I actually have two drop downs, labeled “select a leader from X patrol” (two different patrol names). The leaders listed are assigned as ASMs in those patrols, but not every patrol with merit badges in the PO had a drop down even though they had ASMs assigned. That said, it didn’t matter who I selected from the drop downs; the SM was always shown for every signature.

@KarlGray1

This is a bug. The Merit Badge pocket certificates only have a space for the Scoutmaster to sign. You should never see a dropdown on them. I’ll report this to the developers.
