@GaryBuchmann if you have a minute I can setup a screnshare to take a look
I am leaving for a campout. Would you be available Sunday afternoon?
You can post here and we can see - really just to see if there is any data we can get
This should be fixed. Please check again and let us know.
Thank you! Thank you!
Success, I was able to update his advancement. It now shows the correct requirements version for First Class. I am now able to advance him to Star Scout.
I greatly appreciate all your help!
We just had a troop report 10/21/25 that all of a Scout’s (PID 12555056) First Class records have disappeared and reset to 0. He was on the 2022 version, has NO 2016 version data… He was nearly complete except for a couple of requirements. How do we get this all back?
I have asked the developers to investigate
The developers say there are completed 2016 First Class requirements in the DB. Please switch the Scout back to 2016, record what was completed, switch back to 2022 then enter the completion dates.
Sorry, I missed noting that there are any 2016 requirements data as there are NO Completion dates showing. The requirements show only APPROVED and the only visible date is the Approval date if one hovers over the APPROVED check mark. And Approved is not the same as Completed…
I don’t know why there are no dates recorded. The actual dates of the reqs don’t matter. You can use the approved dates which is the last column here:
Thanks, I will share that data with the Scoutmaster. But, you and I will just have to agree to disagree that using the Approval Date vs the actual Completion Date is irrelevant, because that difference does not reflect reality. For most, the Approval step happens later, sometimes a lonnggg-later. And for the time-driven advancement program that we use, compromising the integrity of the data due to software issues is just mind-boggling.
The unit can go back to the Scout’s handbook and enter the dates if they are recorded, can use the approved dates, make something up or leave the requirements blank because Scotubook Plus does not force most requirements to be completed to complete a rank.
The ONLY date that matters to Scouting America for any rank is the BOR date (final completion date for Scout).
I also hear (from Cyndi) that the Individual Advancement Report in Scoutbook Legacy will still show the Completion Dates, but I haven’t been able to test that.
The IAR is deprecated because it’s not being updated for the newer requirements. The Scouts BSA History Report is the replacement (although the individual requirement dates similarly show in the replacement report).
The dates for this Scout’s 2016 First Class requirements are not in the database, that is why they don’t appear when you look at them in Scoutbook. There are no reports that will show them because they don’t exist.
There is a Scouts BSA Individual Advancement Record report that is still supported. It is a little different from the History report.
