Scouts with Multiple Membership and Unable to Enter Advancement For Them

I am Active Duty Army and my family and I moved in July of 2024 from one Council to another for the Army. We retain our memberships in both the original troop and the new troop, as we still attend summer camp with our original troop in addition to the new troop. For the first 1.5 years we kept our paid membership with the original troop due to a lot of issues and lack of support in the new council, and made our new council the unpaid, multiple registration. Several months ago when it was time for the most recent renewal, I changed the paid membership to our new council and had our original council change our membership to the unpaid, multiple membership. Now my new Troop’s Advancement Chair can no longer mark any rank or merit badge advancements for my sons. Not sure if this was triggered by the change or if the timing was a coincidence. I am also not 100% sure that the new council actually changed our memberships to make themselves primary which may be the issue. Because of our multiple memberships in different councils, it causes us to also have multiple membership numbers (one for each council). The boys show up on the roster in Scoutbook like everyone else, but they are the only 2 Scouts that our Advancement chair can’t enter advancement for.

@EricTreptow Which troop is responsible for recording your Scouts’ advancements?

It should be the new Troop where we live now. The funny thing is that when the original Troop was still the primary, our new Troop was still able to add advancement, but now they should be the primary, and they no longer have the ability to enter and approve rank advancements or merit badges.

@EricTreptow I have fixed what I can for tonight. I will need to check on them again tomorrow after the overnight sync runs.

@EricTreptow Checking back today, it looks like:

Scout 1 appears to have completed 26 merit badges, but 4 of them are not marked as leader approved.

Scout 2 appears to have completed 20 merit badges, but 8 of them are not marked as leader approved.

I have asked my Troop’s Advancement Chair to go and see if they can now enter advancements for my sons to see if the issue is fixed.
