Star Rank Eagle required merit badges and optional merit badges not populating

Major bug with Scoutbook Plus for our troop’s Life Rank scout.

As our Unit Advancement Chair, I was helping our Life scout enter in his requirement dates to get his Eagle Binder ready. I noticed that I had to “Unaward” previous rank for me to enter/approve dates. We were able to enter and approve all dates up until First Class rank. Then when we got to Star rank, it was not populating requirement 3 (4 Eagle required MB and 2 Optional MB). On official BSA record, he already has all 14 Eagle required MB completed. When I run “Scout BSA History Report”, it shows up but not on his Scoutbook Plus advancement. Thus, now it will not let us go beyond First Class. So, our Life rank scout is stuck at First Class rank and can’t proceed until Scoutbook Plus bug is fixed. He is a senior approaching 18, so he was getting his Eagle Binder ready. This will be a major setback for him. We need this bug fixed as soon as possible, since he is trying to get his Eagle rank BOR set up.

On his Scout BSA History Report, MB shows correctly.

For Life Rank, it shows all his Eagle required MB and Optional is populated with Eagle MB also.

For Eagle Rank, it show everything appropriately.

We don’t know what to do at this point. Nothing works. There seems to be no work around.

Also, when we try to enter in his Star rank requirement 1 date #1… it shows this error #2.

@Daniel_Park- all of this has been reported MANY times. It has been noted to the dev team. Watch the change log for the fix. Beyond that what is this “eagle binder” as that is NOT a required part of eagle.

Star rank optional merit badges are displaying required merit badges

@SusanGarcia these are known bugs that are being worked. You will be able to back date once fixed. If you need it for a COH or something Council can enter date for rank in their system

You can have the registrar mark the ranks completed as the history report is correct as you stated

I’ve sent an email to our local council to force date entry for rank up.

However, I just wanted to show this error since it wasn’t even populating the Star rank’s Eagle required MB. If DEV team can somehow let us manually select which MB for those requirements… then everything will be solved.

Also, when I logged in to SB+ this morning… it populated. However, please note that it populate with random Eagle required MB that was completed after Star rank. Thus when trying to enter in the BOR date for Star rank… it gave an error and I was not able to enter Star rank BOR date.

I am posting this so that DEV team can have more data to fix the issue correctly..

This is a known issue. It is all related to the handling of merit badges. The developers are aware and working on a solution.
