@SamAlexander - that would be an adult application filled out for the position and approved by the Charter Org Rep. Be careful to note the existing Member ID on the new application
Hi Stephen –
Would this be a paper form? They’re already a registered leader with the council, and the only form we see online is for new registration which I told them not to do. Also, I was always told adding an existing registered leader to a second unit was “just a few mouse clicks”, is that not so?
Thanks for the reply - and unrelated, I love the Tardis avatar? Fellow Whovian here
Take care – Sam
@SamAlexander - thanks.. been whovian since the 3rd Doctor.. but at any rate the safe way to have that leader added is via an adult application. You can clarify that with your council registrar. The only official way to have them on your roster is if they show up in the my.scouting.org roster and that is done via adult application.
It depends on your council as some states require more or don’t allow online apps.
For most, you can do so via my.scouting.org.
Login, go to menu>My Application>Transfer/Multiple Applications> then click on Multiple. It will have you search for the new unit. Follow the prompts. Once you submit, the new unit will be alerted to your new application and their Charted Organization Representative can evaluate your application and approve it.
Matt, thanks for the reply. When I go to My Applications when I’m logged in I see mine and my kids applications, but the leader who is asking to do this is only seeing his daughter listed – not his application. But when he logs in and tries to create an application through his unit at Be A Scout only Youth is listed. So I’m a bit lost on what steps to give them now.
@SamAlexander - I think the best approach will be a paper application for that other unit.
I think this means that the unit, or council wide, don’t accept online adult apps. Paper (or electronically filled out pdf) looks like the only option.
Calling your council (the unit, your district executive, or council registrar) should be able to help what the best process to follow is.
I know council allows it, most of the units I work with we use online applications, but I did confirm the link to this unit is not giving the option to join as an Adult. Here’s the link to their my.scouting page:
I’ve given the parent a paper form to get the process started, but what settings need to be tweaked to allow the unit to allow online adult leader applications? I don’t have admin access to any Units to peak at the options, so any tutorials or screenshots on how to check this would be helpful.
Thanks – Sam
@SamAlexander - it is in the unit Organization Manager > settings:
