Troop Roster and Linking for scouts connections

I have an interesting dilemma. In July our troop got a new scoutmaster. When I view the troop roster the new scoutmaster is listed correctly. When the new scoutmaster went in to sign a new blue card for a scout he was not able to. Upon looking at the scout’s connection the new scoutmaster was not listed as scoutmaster under his connections he was only listed as an adult leader. The previous scoutmaster was listed as the scoutmaster under all individual scout connections.

Who would I contact to get that fixed.

Your Troop Admin should be able to assign permissions to the Scoutmaster for all scouts.

A Troop Admin can reset his connections by:

  1. Going to the Troop Roster page in Scoutbook.
  2. Click on the Scoutmaster’s name.
  3. Click on the Scoutmaster position.
  4. Make sure the box is checked next to “Position Approved”
  5. Click Update.

Repeat for the Troop Admin position.

This will reset all of his Scoutmaster and Troop Admins connections to the Scouts in the troop.

I would even add, for these types of reasons, the Scoutmaster should be an admin.

By default the Scoutmaster is a Unit Admin. Units can change their unit admins based on unit needs. I know of units where some admins have asked for the admin role to be removed because they are afraid they may mess something up.
