Unable to find Totin Chip award to record for Scout

I have a new Scout that completed all of their Totin Chip requirements at summer camp.

I’m trying to record the completion but can’t find the Totin Chip award to record in Scoutbook Plus.

For example, if I go to Roster - Unit Quick Entry - Awards, Totin Chip doesn’t appear in the drop list of awards. If I go to the Scout’s Awards section, it also doesn’t appear. But for older scouts that earned it at some point, it does appear.

Currently, there are issues with the awards. Watch the change logs for updates on when the fix is pushed out.

No work around in the online system has been shared, but plenty other ways to keep on scouting. For now, if you wish to present the patches, they are not restricted, and can buy them. Usually, the cards are a bigger deal and Scoutmaster are wise to keep a supply handy at all times. Also, marking the associated requirements in the ranks is working (it doesn’t quite say earn totin’ chip, but basically is).

Pay attention to the change logs when awards are fixed.

Looks like it works now? But ones that earned it in Legacy did not migrate over.

Seems there is a problem with the migration.

These snafus appear to be due to a lack of understanding of the two systems’ ERD’s and\or miscommunication to the programmers. Did the earlier programmers and DB Admins not leave notes\documentation?

The Totin Chip shows on his SB Legacy(SBL) profiles, if you hover over it, it gives you the date earned.

However, it iscompletely missing from graphic profile in SB+.AND must be in the database somewhere because when I try to add it in SB+ it displays an error that it is already exists for the given to the UID, “awardid - UID: XXXXXXX”.

Might be a similar issue w\ Paul Bunyan (PB) award. You can see the earned award, but all of the notes and req data is missing.

Any info on when this will be fixed?

Will these issues affect tracking\reporting advancement\awards for this upcomming fall’s CoH’s?

There was a recent post that there are still issues with the awards. Scouting America IT doesn’t publish their timelines, so we’re all waiting for the fixes to be announced in the change logs.

That said, my understanding from the SUAC posts is that the data (including the notes) still exist in the database, as do the status of the awards themselves (as you suspected from the error message).
