@JohnJett1 the way the Council entered this - it is an issue only they can resolve. There is a 60 Grace period you have to work with
I am also unable to renew my son’s membership. his id is 133433001. I was finally able to link his account to mine, but no renewal ability. Please advise and thank you in advance.
@TimothyGrace - if your link was only via scoutbook.scouting.org then that would not provide the renewal ability. The link would need to be done by the registrar in the membership database
@TimothyGrace you are not connected to the Scout in AKELA - only your wife is - I recommend that you contact your local council and ask them to use the Registrar Tools to look up your children. When they look up your children, they want to check your children’s “User Relationship” and make sure that your children are connected to you as parent with Only your correct BSA member ID number

My sons are with Troop 498. I only saw the renewal notice for one kid and not the other. The Scout Master informed me that my second son’s registration is expiring on 12/31/2024.

Parent ID: 13431404
I received an email about his renewal and when I clicked the direct link, I saw an error message saying that I am not authorized to view the page.
I am suspecting that the association between my parent account and my son’s account may have gotten affected.
Can someone help me please? I tried calling the SVMBC office but I couldn’t get anyone on the phone.

@KrishnaLakshminarasi OK - you have 2 MIDs (BSA#s) in your Council - Your last name has a slight difference (1 a vs. 2 a at the end). One Scout is on one MID, one is on the other.
As a Temp fix - I put the other MID in management - so log into my.scouting.org > Manage Member ID > > if you change the other number to Primary - then log out and back in you will be under the other MID and can renew your second Scout. You will want to change back to the first MID after that as that is your registered position and gives you Scoutbook access etc… The Primary MID defines your BSA identity, and who systems think you are for scouting

I updated my credit card for one of my kids so it will auto renew, but my other kid has disappeared from my account and I can’t renew him. My pack contact hasn’t been helpful with knowing how to fix it either.

Related/unrelated—I have an adult leader who is still in the grace period but every time he goes to pay, it keeps circling around waiting to accept. Is this one of those things where he just has to wait for the system to clear itself or do we need to contact the council? He has also opted out of auto-renew. Thanks!
@AndrewBrewer User contacting council is often best - unless he is really opting out

Opting out typically opts them out from renewal. Period. I thought a key 3 or maybe COR could remove the opt out on the roster.

On a separate note, thank you all for always being prompt and knowledgeable. This website is my go-to for most things and your replies to previous questions have always worked.
