Our scout master did not enter a unit approval date in scoutbook for summer camp MB’s. The badges are all marked completed/approved now as they were imported. Neither of us (SM or Advancement chair) can go back and enter the date. We get an error code that the date must be equal to or later than each of the reqs. (It is, MB reqs were completed July & we’re trying to enter a date of April when registration took place). I’ve removed the completed,approved dates and hit save. Still same error message. Is there a way to fix I’m overlooking? Or maybe it doesn’t really matter? I don’t want any scouts to have an issue down the line with their records. Thanks!
If you can provide a couple of specific examples (Scout MemberID, MB name no names needed, though!), that might help the SUAC volunteers look into it.
@BeckyHabecker - the completed date is what matters. If they completed them at summer camp in July then the completed date is July.

Is this a known/reported bug? The add signature date used to work, and would mark that a Scout had started that particular merit badge, i.e. had the discussion with unit leader about interest in the merit badge. So even if no requirements had been completed, the merit badge would still show as started.

Becky stated trying to add the unit leader approval date, i.e. the date the merit badge was started, for the summer camp MBs. The screen shot provided showed the Add signature date that is used to mark with the merit badge was started.
I’ve run into the same issues with merit badges from summer camp this year that were not completed. For these partials, I attempted to add the date the merit badge was started and get an error that the dateCompleted needs to be after the last requirement when trying to add the date the merit badge was started. (see screenshot). It seemed to me that Becky was reporting the same issue of not being able to add the leader signature date to the summer camp merit badges. So I wondered if this is a known bug.
@LenitraDurham - as I stated I would not worry about that signature for any completed or partial merit badges from summer camp as the partials are already started and the completed are done. What was the last date for the for you got that error for ?
The way to avoid the issue in the future is if you really want that signature done is to add that prior to summer camp when they are signed up for the merit badge classes.
ETA: I was just able to add the signature date from one of the summer camp badges set for the date when all reqs were done and it was successful.

Can I ask a question regarding the Summer MB earned by our scouts? I am the CC for our troop and received the report from the camp our troop attended and I am adding in their MB and it is wanting me to send to counselor for approval? How do I do this if I dont have that info? I was just given their “blue card” that shows the completed MB and no counselor names?

Not sure what you mean “wanting to send to Counselor” - is it an error showing?
We need more details. Any leader that can approve advancement can approve a MB because not all MBCs use Scoutbook. Are you seeing an error?
There is a story in the backlog to allow the Initial Leader Signature to be added after the MB is marked complete.

It has been fixed. I’m able to add the unit leader signature date for the partials, and the signature date is before the requirements that have been signed off.
The issue is when trying to add the initial signature date after the full MB is marked complete. This issue has not been fixed.
