Unit Leader Signature After MB Complete Issue

Hello,

The Unit Leader Signature is “Enter the date you signed Scout’s Application for Merit Badge (blue card). Or enter the date you had a discussion with Scout about this merit badge and recommended a counselor.” But when I enter this date I get the error “dateCompleted should be later or equal to the last completed date for all requirements.” That would be me approving them to work on it after it was completed and recorded by the MBC. The workflow is approving them to work on it before they start. That way we don’t have Scouts with 20 partial MBs. We can tell them to finish one first. This was working correctly until a couple days ago.

I have reported this issue. The workaround is to use a date on or after the completion date.

It wasn’t. I discovered the workaround when reproducing the issue for the developers.

Are merit badge counselors able to sign off requirements before the initial unit leader signature is in place?

Yes, there is no link between the initial unit leader signature and MBC approval. Since not all units use SB+, we cannot require an initial unit leader signature to be completed.
