Still receiving this error as well after trying the suggestions listed above. This happens when I click on any scout in the roster that recently joined our Pack.
Not sure if this is the same issue, but I am Committee Chair for my pack and keep getting an error message ‘your position and related permissions do not allow you to perform this action.’ Other leaders are experiencing the same thing. One leader was completely removed. It’s very challenging to know who to reach out to and to get issues like this resolved. Please advise.
This is as good a place to start as any
I believe this is a known issue, but a couple of preliminaries to help narrow this down:
- Do you have your CC role selected in the upper right corner under the Cub Scout logo?
- Have you tried clearing the cache and/or forcing a reload of the page?
- What specifically were you trying to do at the time you got the errors?
Removed from classic Scoutbook? Scoutbook+?Does this scouter still appear on the official roster at my.scouting?
Also, if you provide the Scouting America Member ID for this scouter, the SUAC volunteers may be able to identify something specific that resulted in the disappearance.
Hello. I was delayed in getting back in but I did attempt today, 9/2/2025. Cleared the cache and used an ingognito window and continued to have the user not authorized for the apiu access.
The developers are investigating why ASMs are still seeing this error.
Watch Scoutbook - Scoutbook Plus Change Log - Scouting Forums for an announcement of a fix.
Hi, Charley,
The issues occurred when I tried to sign off more than one scouts’ rank requirements. My SB User ID:10117090. My Member ID:128342044
Is there any further suggestions you may offer to me for testing my membership or account status?
Thank you!
Shu
From what @edavignon posted just above your reply , it looks like the issue is being investigated by the development team. One of the SUAC might have more insight, but it sounds like it’s at the “wait for the fix” stage.
Hi folks. The issue is not resolved for me. Please see my post above that shows the same issue and same steps that failed today.
I also tried on another machine (edge, chrome, chrome incognito). I tried deleting ALL history, i even tried deleting app data from dev tools > application > storage.
No luck yet!
Thanks. I let the developers know.
Good afternoon. I am an Assistant Scoutmaster and have been having this issue as well. I reviewed the change log and it seems this still needs to be addressed. Question: Is there any way we can revert back to the “old” Scoutbook? Is there anyway to make Scoutbook-Plus a “Beta” system for the time being so all the “Bugs” will work out? I know several troops in our area are experiencing the same “bugs” for some time when it comes to having qualifications to input things into Scoutbook. Thank you.
No, the SUAC has stated many times, that they have been told it won’t go back. If you notice, today 3 sets of fixes went out that fixed many issues that units were having. It seems like awards is one of the big remaining items, but I haven’t been keeping track.
API error is not fixed even after the update. Been trying to enter an Eagle palm for a leader who had trouble entering it in for a Scout. Tried different browser, cleared cache, and used incognito and nothing. Please advise and fix or I can give you the information and you can try to enter it in.
It looks like above they have an example to check out.
Still getting the same message for all Scouts. All advancement sign offs are unable at this point. Rank, merit badges, etc… any progress being made?
I wouldn’t know any details, just being a unit ASM, but there was a post in the Change Logs recently indicating that it’s still being worked.
