Verify Adult Leader Membership/Add to Roster

Hello! I have a new parent who has two BSA numbers, but we can’t determine which one is active to add him to our roster. He claims to be current with membership dues, but there’s no way for me to identify the active number. Could someone please investigate this matter and provide guidance? The member IDs are 140865454 and 12558709, and both are linked to his Scout in Scoutbook.

@SUSANNEJOHNSON - perhaps your registrar would be able to answer that. I do not recall parents paying membership renewal. Only registered youth and adults would pay renewal. I gather you are looking to have the parent register as an adult in the troop.

You need to contact your Council. MID 140865454 is showing an Assistant Den Leader registration from 9/1/25 to 9/30/26 but it is in a state that won’t push it to the Scoutbook roster. My view of the database does not say what is causing this.

@SUSANNEJOHNSON but is he registered in your unit? a key 3 can look at official roster at my.scouting.org

I will check there as well. His son just moved up from the pack to troop, so I assumed he was registered with the pack and I could transfer him over, but apparently not! :roll_eyes:

The only registration is as Assistant Den Leader. There is no registration with a troop.

You cannot transfer Adults like Scouts - Adults have to be approved by the Charter Org Rep

If the adult has a current paid registration they can initiate from their My.Scouing Account:

  • Log into My.Scouting

  • Click on My Application

  • At the top of that page select the TRANSFER / MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS tab

  • Next to the Pack registration, there will be a Transfer button and a Multiple button. Click on Multiple if staying in the Pack and joining your Troop OR Transfer if only going to be in your Troop.

  • Search for your Troop

  • Submit

  • Once submitted COR from the Troop needs to Accept in Application Manager
